Ana Prendes is a curator, researcher and writer based between Barcelona and London.
Her curatorial practice explores the imaginaries and cultures of fundamental science and advanced technologies, and the ways artistic practices intervene in their societal transformations. Bringing together artists, researchers, and diverse communities, her work takes the form of exhibitions, public programmes, writing, artist residencies, and mediation.
She is currently Head of Programmes at Platform Dalí / Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation. She is developing fellowship and residency programmes across laboratories in Barcelona — BSC-CNS, ICFO, ICM-CSIC, IFAE, and PRBB — that foster artistic research in dialogue with AI and supercomputing, quantum physics and cosmology, life and sciences.
Previously, she was Assistant Curator at Arts at CERN (2020–25), the arts programme of the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, which received the European Commission’s S+TARTS Prize for Innovative Collaboration (2024). She has also held curatorial roles at the Science Gallery Network and Science Gallery London.
Her work has been presented or published at ZKM | Centre for Art and Media, Belvedere 21, Hay Festival, Institute of Culture of Barcelona, Mattress Factory, CERN, VISTA Science Centre, Technical University of Valencia, Escola de Disseny Barcelona, MAAT Museum, Serendipity Festival, Coeval Magazine, TANK Magazine, CLOT Magazine, among others.
